As a board member Marketing & IT, you are responsible for branding AFD and maintaining our professional image to the public. You will design posters, the website, banners, etc. In this function, you can expand your creativity and technical knowledge. Basic skills in WordPress and/or Photoshop are a must. Experience in photography is also a valuable asset.
As a board member Communication, you are responsible for smooth communication within the organisation as well as for communicating AFD news and principles to the outside world (students, partners, sympathisers, etc.). Your main tasks involve supporting the marketing team in their activities for this semester, help out with practical aspects of promotional actions, updating social media, creating a regular newsletter, providing texts for flyers, the website, etc. A passion for writing is an essential characteristic. Furthermore, you are responsible for AFD’s presence in the media. Good English knowledge is required.
As a board member Events, you will be responsible for the organisation of the spectacular AFD-events to make people interested in and familiar with AFD, and most of all, to bring topics related to social entrepreneurship and development cooperation closer to the broader student society. This year we are hosting lectures, debates and the ‘Week of the South’. Of vital importance for this function are your creativity and assertiveness. You will need strict time-management and scheduling skills.
As a board member Human Resources (HR), you are responsible for coordinating recruiting processes, which involve drafting questionnaires, screening CV’s and motivation letters, interviewing candidates, etc. You will also be responsible for the coordination of the selection procedure and the organisation of teambuilding activities. You will cooperate with the project coordinator to evaluate project students and give feedback if needed. Knowledge of human nature will be useful during reflection meetings with board and project teams.
